Dear Parents,
Summer is waning fast and it is time to begin preparations for the fall. It is time for us to register for Faith Formation Classes for the 2012-2013 year.
My hope for you and your family is that this is a time of rest and relaxation; summer days to enjoy each other, the sun, sports and lots of water fun! As parents we know well that the time we spend with our children is worth its weight in gold. Parenting gives us the best opportunity to be with our young people—a gift we cannot afford to turn away. It is a time of great learning for them and for us! With good solid parenting comes the harvest of a great relationship as a mentor and friend to your children as they grow older! This summer I am enjoying spending all my extra time with my two daughters and two grandsons! I continue to pray for all of you as you go forth with the grace of God on your journey of Catholic parenting.
I have included a registration form for you to mail to or drop off at the Rectory Office with your registration fee. Please be aware and take into consideration that once class lists are made it is very difficult to move children from one class to another. Catechists start right from the first class to develop sacred space with your children. This is often disrupted by students moving from one group to another. Please note that all our classes are held in the school building making it easy for children who carpool to meet in one location after class for their ride. We try very hard to balance all teaching situations and spaces. Please remember that even though our children go to different schools we are one community here at St. Mary’s and should use this opportunity for them to develop relationships within the whole community. If you have requests based on a medical need please note this on your registration form.
Families with children in grade 2 First Reconciliation and First Communion and teens in grade 11 making their Confirmation; your forms must be accompanied by a Baptismal Certificate. If you were baptized here at St. Mary’s please make a note of it on the forms so we can look up the information.

Please keep me informed of any changes to your e-mail address as I will be communicating with you in this manner during the year and will be sending all cancellations and changes to the schedule this way.
