CYO Basketball

Registration Opens in the Fall

The St. Mary’s CYO Basketball Program is an inclusive program that is open to all boys and girls in grades PreK to Grade 8. Our teams will be entered into the Western Mass CYO League. “The goal of the Western Mass CYO Basketball League is to teach the values of teamwork, pride, respect, commitment, sportsmanship and the development of a proper winning attitude.”

St. Mary’s CYO Program Description:

 

  • Boys & Girls teams in each age group (Grades 3-4; Grades 5-6; Grades 7-8)


  • Teams and players are matched up to appropriate divisions (A, B or C) so attendance at evaluations is necessary in order to create the best experience for each child. (Evaluations are conducted for grades 5-8 only.)


  • Regular season games run from December through mid-February, and will include playoffs


  • Games are played at St. Mary’s Academy and other parish gyms throughout the Greater Springfield area.


  • The Pre k-2nd program is a fun and age-appropriate skills clinic with scrimmages played each Sunday morning.


  • Several coaches’ meetings and player evaluations will be held in October.

COACHING:

For all those interested in coaching or learning more about coaching one of our teams - Check back next season.

EVALUATIONS:

Attending player evaluations is critical for making sure your child gets on the most appropriate level team. No evaluations are needed for grades 3-4.

Interested in volunteering your time?

As kids age out of the program, so are many of our volunteers. We are looking to add volunteers to the St. Mary's Board to keep this robust program active in our community. If you are interested in learning more, please email us for more information.
