Youth and Family Opportunities

 Parish activities will enhance the formation of the youth of our parish and their families.  We invite you and your family to participate often  in all that our Parish has to offer, including: 

¨ Altar Serving

Everyone who has celebrated their First Communion can become an Altar Server.  Servers assist Father C.J. or visiting priests during Mass.  Two to three servers are scheduled at each of the weekend Masses.  You will be able to choose the Mass that fits your family’s schedule.  Please contact the Parish Office at 567-3124 for information.

¨ Youth Choir

The Choir sings at the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sundays.  Anyone interested in singing or playing an instrument please see the website to sign up for the choir.

¨ Youth Ministry Group

Our Youth Ministry Group is open to all 7th-12th graders. Join for the opportunity to praise God while attending cool trips, performing service projects and helping our Parish and community.  You will not want to miss this!!!  Email or call Mrs. B. for more info.

¨ Children’s / Family Mass -Sundays at 9:30AM

We invite children to join Father C.J. in the Sanctuary for the homily.  The homily is prepared to meet the needs of youth and families. Our Youth Choir provides much of the music for the Liturgy. *On the first Sunday of the month, coffee and donuts are served in the Parish Center after the Mass.  Please join us!

¨ Halloween Party

Who doesn’t love dressing up, playing games, walking in the Haunted Hallway! Do all these and more at the Halloween Party October 25th.

¨ Snacks with Santa

Have you been naughty or nice? Come tell Santa what’s on your list this year and play games, make a snack for Rudolf and some crafts on December 8th!

¨ Christmas Pageant

Our children in grades 1-5 will present the story of Jesus’ birth at the 9:30AM Mass on Sunday, December 15, 2024. Please email kbladen@stmarylong.org to sign up.

¨ Saint Patrick’s Celebration

Everyone is Irish on Saint Patrick’s Day...especially Saint Mary’s!  Celebrate this great Saint with us on March 19th, 2025, from 1-4PM.  We offer hot corned beef sandwiches, face painting...and lots more.  Socialize, participate in fun activities and listen to the best Irish Music.

¨ Living Way of the Cross

At noon on Good Friday (April 18th), members of our youth re-enact the Stations of the Cross beginning inside the church.  We conclude with veneration of the cross.

¨ Easter Egg Hunt

On Easter Sunday, April 20th, children attending the 9:30 Mass are invited to bring their Easter basket to the side lawn after Mass for some Easter joy!

¨ Summer Camp

The Summer Bible Camp is open to all children entering K-6 grade. Students entering 7th and up participate as volunteers.  The best way to start off the summer!  Dates and signup details released in the late spring.

¨ YoungLife & WyldLife Summer Camp at the lake

Join our youth ministry leaders for THE BEST WEEK OF SUMMER at Saranac Lake for high schoolers and Lake Champion for middle schoolers.  Reserved spots fill up fast; email kbladen@stmarylong.org for more info.

¨ Steubenville East

High school students are invited to join us for a weekend of music, speakers and worship.  Dates and location for 2025 to be announced
